(6) KEYWORDS: Satilla, CTD (7) RESEARCH LOCATION: The Satilla River from SL+04.3 to SL+24.2 (2-character river code + 3-digit code for upstream distance from river mouth in km). (8) EXPERIMENTAL DESIGNS AND METHODS: Casts were taken with an Ocean Sensors CTD equipped with a D&A Optical Backscatterance Sensor. After soaking at the surface for approximately 2 minutes, the CTD was lowered to the bottom by a power winch and then raised to the surface. The downcasts were averaged to produce vertical depth bins. (9) NOTES AND COMMENTS: Each cast has a header that contains information in the following order: cast number, station location, date, time (EST), max water depth (m), latitude (degrees and minutes N), and longitude (degrees and minutes W). Predicted tidal height at ~SL+10: High Water at 0919 EST. Fofonoff and R.C. Millard Jr.; UNESCO Technical Papers in Marine Science #44, 1983. Suspended sediment concentrations were converted from optical backscatterance (OBS) voltage based on a linear regression with in situ pumped water samples.
