 (5) BRIEF DESCRIPTION of DATA FILE:  1m vertical bin averages of 9 CTD casts
     taken aboard a UGA skiff on the Darien River on November 05, 1994.

 (7) RESEARCH LOCATION:  Darien River between 31 23.06 N, 81 20.08 W and       
     31 21.30 N, 81 26.37 W. 

 (8) EXPERIMENTAL DESIGNS AND METHODS: Casts were taken with a SeaBird Electronics CTD19
     (S/N 1234).  After soaking at the surface for 1 minute, the switch was turned on
     and the CTD was lowered to the bottom by hand and then raised to the surface.  The
     collected data's downcasts were processed using standard SeaBird software to
     produce the 1m vertical bin averages.

 (9) NOTES AND COMMENTS:  Each cast has a header that contains information in the  
     following order: cast number, date, time (EST), max water depth (M),
     latitude (N in degrees and minutes), and longitude (W in degrees and minutes).

     Both salinity and sigma-t were computed by the SeaBird software program.  The 
     formulas used were obtained from "Algorithms for Computation of Fundamental    
     Properties of Seawater" by N.P. Fofonoff and R.C. Millard Jr.; Unesco technical
     papers in marine science #44, 1983.
